Email client compatibility at a glance
SignaturesDB generates conservative HTML: nested tables, inline styles, web-safe fonts and hosted PNG images. That is the format every major client supports, but no two clients render email identically. These are the differences you are most likely to notice:
- Classic Outlook for Windows ignores rounded corners and may add extra line spacing. Initials avatars stay round because the shape is baked into the image.
- Images must be hosted on a public https:// URL. Some clients block remote images until the recipient allows them, so alt text is always included.
- Dark mode is handled differently by each client. Some invert colors, others leave them unchanged. Use the dark preview to check legibility, and prefer logos that work on both light and dark backgrounds.
- Mobile apps (Gmail, Yahoo, iOS Mail) often have a separate, simpler signature setting.
