Known limitations in Outlook
- Classic Outlook for Windows renders email with Microsoft Word: rounded corners (border-radius) are ignored, so uploaded photos appear square. Initials avatars stay round because the shape is part of the image.
- Classic Outlook may add a little extra spacing between lines and ignores some padding on links, so buttons can look tighter.
- Outlook blocks remote images until the recipient chooses to download them, so always keep meaningful alt text.
- Signatures set in Outlook on the web don't automatically sync to classic Outlook for Windows. Add the signature in each app you use.
Troubleshooting
- The signature pasted as code. You copied the HTML instead of the signature. Use “Copy signature”.
- Images are missing. Check the editor for warnings. Images stored only in your browser are not included until they have a public https:// URL.
- The layout looks different. Send a test email to yourself and check it on desktop and mobile. If one client struggles, try a simpler template such as Classic or Modern Minimal.
