Before you start
Create your signature in the free editor, make sure any photo or logo is hosted (the editor warns you if it isn't), then use Copy signature.
AMail on macOS
- 1
In SignaturesDB, click “Copy signature”.
- 2
Open Mail and choose Mail › Settings (Preferences on older macOS), then the Signatures tab.
- 3
Select your account in the left column and click “+” to add a signature. Name it.
- 4
Uncheck “Always match my default message font”, otherwise Mail replaces your fonts.
- 5
Click into the preview area on the right, select the placeholder text and paste with ⌘V.
- 6
Close the window. Choose the signature from the “Choose Signature” menu for the account.
BMail on iPhone and iPad
- 1
Open the Settings app, then Apps › Mail › Signature (Mail › Signature on older iOS).
- 2
Paste your signature into the field. iOS keeps basic formatting and links; images and complex layouts may be simplified.
- 3
For the most faithful result on iPhone, send yourself an email from a desktop client and copy the signature from it.
Known limitations in Apple Mail
- If the pasted signature looks plain or the images break, quit Mail, reopen it and paste again. Mail sometimes needs a restart before it saves rich signatures.
- Apple Mail supports border-radius, web-safe fonts and hosted images well.
- iCloud can sync signatures between Macs, but they do not sync to iOS.
Troubleshooting
- The signature pasted as code. You copied the HTML instead of the signature. Use “Copy signature”.
- Images are missing. Check the editor for warnings. Images stored only in your browser are not included until they have a public https:// URL.
- The layout looks different. Send a test email to yourself and check it on desktop and mobile. If one client struggles, try a simpler template such as Classic or Modern Minimal.
